  The app does not, in fact, import shots from scripts.It also isn't capable of entering shots manually. It's pretty clear this hasn't been tested in quite some time as even simple things like starting a new project or creating a shot don't work.I've reported the bugs to the author and requested my money back from the app store. My advice: save yourself some time and keep looking. Or just use a spreadsheet.

  I have been using this application for my entire filmmaking career (I’ve been at it for 5 years). I can easily say that I would not make any of my days if I didn’t have this program. It’s simple to use, very robust and is a great tool to ensure that you can make your day.

• Imperfect but Useful

  I downloaded shotlister last week to use on a multiday shoot later this month. It took a bit to understand how it all works but I am very happy with it now. There is at least one feature that doesn't cross over to the iphone version from the mac, the ability to copy and paste shots from one scene to another. Very useful.

  This is by far one of the best shot listing apps, I've ever gotten my hands on! Shot Lister made everything so simple, from imputing shots to lens to description of scenes. The best part about it, is Crew Sync and being able to share the shot list with the rest of my crew so we can all see what is happening at the same time. The live mode is great when you're shooting, because it will show you if you're ahead of time or behind. Shot Lister is an app that is made for filmmakers by filmmakers. I highly recommend this for anyone who is shooting any type of project, it will help you in more ways than one!

• Great app for time managment

  This app is great for keeping us on time during a shoot.I'm able to arrange the shots on the fly, adjust time, and know when I'm falling behind on time. There are bigger software packages out there, but if you are working on a budget and need a product that works this is it.

• Invaluable for indie filmmakers

  On the shorts I make for Funny or Die, we're never able to have an Assistant Director on set. My iPad and Shotlister sit next to the producer who gleefully shows me when we're in the green, or (god forbid) the red. It's made everyone on set more comfortable knowing that I had it planned out, and when I'm out of my mind for thinking we can accomplish X in Y time. If I were an AD (perish the thought), ShotLister would be my go-to also.

• I Love this App !

  The IOS version is great, but the MacOS version became a must for me, becuase I knew taking on a Feature film project would be larger than my previous projects, and I needed to navigate around the App at a faster pace. I decide to try the MacOs version, and I must admit this gave me flexibility and speed. The layout on this version is a hell of alot faster to navigate around on than the IOS version, especially with the hotkeys feature. Also Customer Support was awesome in helping me transition my 'Pro feature' to the Mac version. I apreciate the fast communication!

• App is great if it works…. Which it rarely does..

  So I orignally purchased this app 2 years ago on my iPad. It worked great for what I used it for. I mainly just used it for just organizing my thoughts and planning out shots. I also used it to time the shots. Well I am now shooting a low budget feature, and I am trying to plan it out using this app. Doing this on an Ipad would get super tedious, so I wanted to use it on my desktop. Well I had to purchase the app all over again for my computer. So $40 became $80. Then to import my script it you have to pay $14 a year…. Whatever. I’ll pay it… But then I went to import the script from final draft and none of the information imports. Then I try with a celtx file and it does import. Super weird, but whatever I can work around it. Then after I filled in the remaining information like page count, page numbers, and scene descriptions (About 2 - 3 hours of work). Well guess what! It wont let me schedule the scenes to shoot days except for sceene 65 and 87. I was so aggrivated I wrote this review and then had a the bright idea to try adding a shot in one of the scene. Well I then found out that you have to have a shot in the scene to assign it to a shooting day…. God is that annoying… I plan out my days before I plan out my shots, so essentially I have to go through and add a bunch of shots first, and then schedule them….The bugs in this app are so annyoing. I can’t believe I had to pay for this grabage 3 times. Don’t waste your money unless you only plan on using it only on your ipad…. I should probably have just purchased Movie Magic Pro scheduling, but I don’t want to spendd $449. I figured this $55 application would work. Well it doesn’t.
